And Finally Suzuki Brought Hayate - A Commuter To India

A typical commuter was one of the most awaited product from two wheeler leader 'SUZUKI'. To be the honest they really made it too late to get high sales figures, because a typical commuter bike was the most demanded product in Indian industry. Suzuki already have tasted the sweet success in the segment with the old partner TVS. Very successful products like Samurai, Max 100 and the legendary Shogun and Shaolin were in the line up in the mid 90s. After breaking up with TVS they made the return too late though TVS has restricted them for only 30 months from entering back in to India. I personally think that when they came back they should have came back with all type of segment because there was no chance of failure due to it's own reputation in India. They came up with two 125 cc bikes named as Heat and Zeus, which could not make any wonders from them, though the engineering work with these two bikes was a top notch but they could not read the Indian public's minds which was running behind the attractive designs of pulsars and splendors. Later on they came up with GS 150 R with the unique feature of 6th gear but unfortunately their this launch was too late to drive Indian customers towards their showrooms. Already bikes like Pulsar and Unicorn were very well established which restricted GS 150 R from getting the top spot.
